Short description the Russian version of the FRENCHY found here: [link] The original model SUCKED but my friends daughter was with us so I am posting the shot I made of her. See the shot of my original idea here: [link] We almost got arrested and I almost had my camera taken away while shooting this No kids were hurt or given alcohol during the shoot.
Long and detailed description After I shot FRENCHY [link] I really wanted to shoot this whole series that never happened of course, but I ended up organizing this one. (i dont usually organize my shots, so it felt kinda weird getting all the props and stuff. This was shot on the Red Square [link] which is supposedly what Russia is known for. Let me know if you would have thought of a better symbol.
It was so easy to work with =n3o I took it for granted that I had to choose between many good shots. After this shoot with my original model though (see it here: [link]) I realized that even though he looked perfect it didnt guarantee the success of the photo. Sooo disappointing. Luckily my friend's 6 year old daughter was with us, so I got her to pose. She is ADORABLE. went to first grade this year So i ended up liking this one better and here it is.
A scary looking agent in civillian clothes came up to us and made us show our passports and told us this looks too much like shooting and ad (i was using a flash) and scared us in all the different ways. Made us tear off the label and scratch the name off the cap... then it turned out if we made one step back it wouldnt be his area and he wouldn't care. WTF?
I agree this result is a looooooot more original. Obviously because of the contrast between the attitude/context and the age of the model. Great lighting, great expression.
The adventure also gives an added value to the pic.
What a nice environmental portrait. Very touching. Life behind the rusted curtain.

one step behind? hehe tahts hilarious!
Anyway the photo is great the kid's expression is priceless. I lik the idea that you have, as a series (and it COULD be used as an ad campaign Each country having its own symbol behind the model )
